The International Olympic Committee will not send invitations to Belarus, Russia and Guatemala to participate in the Olympics-2024 at the appointed time. This emerged from the press release of the organization, Pressball reports.

As a rule, the IOC sends such invitations to national committees a year before the Olympic Games. The fate of Belarusian and Russian athletes should be decided by July 26. However, the organization has now postponed this decision to an unspecified date.

Earlier, the IOC recommended that Belarusian and Russian athletes be allowed to participate in international tournaments individually, in a neutral status and provided that they do not support Russia's war in Ukraine. However, the IOC decided to make a decision on the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan later.

Invitations to participate will be extended to 203 National Olympic Committees, except for Belarus, Russia and Guatemala, whose membership in the IOC is now suspended.
