Belarus deports Ingush opposition activist to Russia

Ingush oppositionist and blogger Ismail Nalgiyev has been deported from Belarus to Russia, the press service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports.  He was detained in Minsk Airport on May 8. Nalgiyev was trying to leave for the Czech Republic. However, it turned out that he was wanted in Russia. He learnt it at the border control post. The Ingush activist was taken to the police and got detained.

The lawyer tried to prevent the deportation but the oppositionist was deported out of court.

Nalgiyev was one of the leaders of peaceful protests against giving part of Ingushetia to Chechnya. The Russian authorities are persecuting activists. It is not clear what will happen to Nalgiyev.
