Human rights defenders set up information center to monitor elections

Belarusian human rights activists have set up an information center to monitor the upcoming parliamentary elections, Aleh Hulak, the chairman of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee said in a statement.
The press center's phone lines are availabe at the web site of Belarusian Helsinki Committee.

"We reguarly monitor violations of the Electoral Code as well as the problems which candidates are faced with and make interim analysis of the situation during the electoral campaign. The next interim report on the results of the campaign will be released next week. The final report on the elections will be made available on September 29", Hulak said.

The information center will operate in a regular mode on the election day (September 28) to receive reports from the regions.
