Housing maintenance worker compalins about back wages

Housing maintenance workers in Minsk have bombarded local authorities with complaints about back wages.

Tatsyana K, one of the complainants, told ERB that she was paid only half of a child allowance, 69,000 rubels, on July 20. Her salary was repeatedly delayed in the past, she said.

Tatsyana Markevich, an accountant with the number 29 housing maintenance enterprise where Tatsyana K is employed, denied the existence of back wages in an interview with the ERB. She said that workers received part of their salaries on July 20 and the rest on the following day.

Other workers confirmed that all wages have been paid to date. "This is stupid. I tell you that all wages have been paid," said one employee. Housing maintenance workers get paid between 500,000 and 800,000 rubels per month.
