Homel democrats to install memorial stone “To your martyrs, Belarus”
Homel united democratic forces are going to install a memorial stone near the mass graves of people shot by the PCIA not far from Homel. Let us remind you that a search group of the Ministry of Defence discovered mass graves of shot people not far from Homel in May. Remnants of 70 people were excavated.
It was officially announced that the people must have been victims of fascists. However, local civil activists found local inhabitants who witnessed that it was the PCIA that killed those people.
An activist of the steering committee trying to create the “Belarusian Christian Democracy” party Kanstantsin Zhukouski informed ERB that the stone with a four-point cross will have inscriptions “To your martyrs, Belarus” and “Do not forget history so that it would not repeat”.
Homel democrats are planning to install it on Dzyady near the Orthodox cross recently installed by local authorities and the Belarusian Republic Union of Youth.
