3 wounded in central Kiev shootout (updated)

Unknown people were fighting there and five shots were made, censor.net.ua reports. Three people were wounded and taken to a hospital.

The shooters rushed to the restaurant and barricaded themselves in the toilet. Fighters from the Right Sector and Maidan Self-Defence gathered near the restaurant. They are trying to decide how to neutralize the attackers before the police arrives.

Representatives of the Self-Defence have started negotiations with the attackers.

Information about two wounded people instead of three appeared later. One of them is Bohdan Dubas, deputy head of Kiev State Administration, and the other one is a member of Maidan Self-Defence.

The shooters are said to be members of the Right Sector. The conflict started during the dismantling of the tents and barricades. The shots were made with a gun and the identity of the shooter is being revealed now. Members of the Right Sector probably helped the shooters hide in the hotel Dnipro, journalists reported later.

Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov promised to detain the culprits. “What should a Minister do? He must order to detain the gangs. This is my duty; this is what the law says. I am ready both for a resignation and for further struggle in the future,” he wrote on Facebook.
