European Commission looking for EU representative in Minsk

The European Commission has announced a contest for the position of Ambassador. The Ambassador will head the EC representative office in Belarus, reports BelaPAN. The decision to increase the status of the representative office is caused by two reasons: the Treaty of Lisbon comes into power and the European Foreign Policy Service headed by Catherine Ashton is created. Besides the Ambassador to Minsk, the European Commission is also looking for deputy heads of its representative offices in Brazil, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Indonesia, Kenya and some other countries.
