Ecologists put Belarusian government’s resolution in freezer

Coordinator of the Green Network association Volha Kaskevich told Euroradio about it.

Volha Kaskevich: “We planned to collect a lot of signatures, 50 or 100 thousands. But we have collected 15 thousands. Anyway, it is an achievement because very few issues can draw such a wide response in our country.”

8 bogs protected by the state are planned to be reclaimed according to resolution #794 of the Council of Ministers.

Ecologists have launched a bog preservation campaign. The ceremony of freezing the resolution in front of the gallery “U” has been held in Minsk today. The document will stay in the freezer until it is cancelled, Green Network members say.
