Deputy prosecutor reports decrease in crimes in Minsk

Minsk' Deputy Prosecutor Kazimir Kezhun has reported a 3.2 percent decrease in the number of crimes in Minsk to 16,692 in the first six months of 2009.   Kezhun said serious crimes fell by 14.1 percent year on year. The number of murders dropped from 39 in the first six months of 2008 to 28 in the same period this year, Interfax reported.

 

However, cases of fraud rose by 16.5 percent.
