Customs committee: Russia collects 100% of customs duties for oil supplies illegally

Belarus' Customs Commitee chairman Alyaksandr Shpileuski has descibed as illegal Russia's decision to collect 100% of customs duties for the supplies of crude oil to Belarus. Alyaksandr Shpileuski: “Three years ago, an agreement on the supplies of oil to Belarus was signed. It has been vild up to now. Under the agreement, customs duties should not be collected from January 1, 2010.

Therefore, in this case we are talking about illegal actions of the Russian side. Russia has unilaterally withdrawn from this agreement and has been collecting export duties from Russian companies illegally”.

At the same time, the chairman of the customs agency noted that Belarus would not take any adequate measures, at least until the president of the country decides otherwise.
