Crime committed every three minutes in Belarus

Over 40,000 felony crimes have been registered in Belarus since early this year, reports ONT television channel referring to a meeting of prosecutors from the most crime affected regions on Saturday.

Prosecutors noted the rise in the number of murders, especially among friends and relatives.

The Babruysk and Mahilyou districts are taking the lead in terms of the number of crimes. Statistics suggest that industrial cities attract criminals, while Minsk stands out for corruption crimes.

The meeting also discussed the success in fighting trans-border crimes which are however overshadowed by the poor performance in cracking the cyber crimes.
