Council of Intellectuals refuses to select single candidate

The Council will take the decision on Tuesday, August 3. The head of the initiative Uladzimir Kolas has informed ERB that presidential contenders are not ready to sacrifice their ambitions in order to work for the final result.
Kolas: "9 procedures were offered, it was suggested choosing a procedure and sticking to it. And the situation came to a standstill there. In our opinion, it happened because some contenders did not really want to select a single candidate and thought that they were the only ones who could become a single candidate”.

According to Kolas, the Council of Intellectuals still allows contenders to select a single candidate. However, it should be done before the election campaign is officially launched.
