Bush prolongs sanctions against Lukashenka for one more year

According to the decision announced in Washington and according to the covering letter addressed to the Congress and signed by the US President, the prolongation of the term of the sanctions is caused by the fact that “the actions and policy of the mentioned Belarusian heads of the government and other people are still posing an extraordinary and exceptional threat to the national security and foreign policy of the USA”. Let us remind you that the USA blocked the property and assets of 10 heads of the Belarusian government including President Alyaksandr Lukashenka, the head of Belarusian KGB Stsyapan Suharenka, the head of the Belarusian state broadcasting company Alyaksandr Zimouski, the Minister of Internal Affaires of Belarus Uladzimir Navumau, the deputy head of the Belarusian President’s Administration Natallya Pyatkevich and others according to Bush’s decision. The sanctions were imposed due to the mentioned people’ actions that were undermining democratic processes and institutions and for violation of human rights, political repressions, etc.
