Brest Region democrats decide to take part in local elections

Practically all active participants of the previous elections in Brest Region have decided to take part in the elections to the local councils of deputies. The head of Brest city affiliate of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party “Hramada” Hanna Kanyus has informed:
Kanyus: "At the moment we have about 30 candidates who will run for regional, city and district Councils of deputies. We have agreements with structures of the United Democratic Forces; we are contacting each other and taking decisions about constituencies”.

The coordinator of the Movement “For Freedom” in Brest Region Zmitser Tratsyak has said that seven non-party candidates and nine BNF candidates will take part in the elections under the aegis of the Movement. Candidates for deputies’ seats will have to send their people to election commissions.
The position of the head of the regional affiliate of the United Civil Party Mikalai Koush was better delineated:
Koush: "We will have about thirteen people: three in the regional Council and the others – in the local ones. We have several well-experienced people we are going to send to election commissions. If our people are not included in the commissions or only a few them are allowed there, I will certainly vote for a boycott”.
