Belarusian Roman Catholics preparing for TV link with Vatican

The Roman Catholics in Belarus are preparing for a Minsk-Vatican TV uplink with the Pope Benedict  XVI. The video conference will take place on March 1 at 1800 Minsk time at the St Virgin Mary Cathedral in the Belarusian capital.  Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, believes that a TV link will play a very important role for the Catholics in Belarus by spreading more information about Belarus in the world.

Interfax reports that a video signal will be fed through a satellite link to the TV center in Vatican. The broadcasting from Vatican will be screened on eight huge screens inside the Minsk cathedral and on one huge screen outside the church.

“The prayer will be made in the Belarusian language", Kondrusiewicz noted.
