The National Assembly of Belarus is finalizing work to set up a working group on contacts with the US Congress. The group, first-ever in Belarusian history, will comprise parliamentarians from both chambers – the upper (the Council of the Republic) and the lower (the House of Representatives).

"We are ready to discuss absolutely all issues with our colleagues,” said Siarhei Rachkou, Foreign Affairs and National Security Commission Chairman at the Council of the Republic, adding that relations between Belarus and the United States are gradually normalizing – something both countries are interested in.
