The Belarusian IT-sector news portal Dev.by has presented its annual research reports highlighting the latest trends in the industry that began to emerge ten years ago.

The number of women involved in the IT-sector has increased 2.5 times. Females account for 1/5 of all IT specialists in the country. The profession has ‘become older’: the number of people aged above 30 has doubled and the age of ‘juniors’ (beginners) has increased by 2 years.

The average wage has grown 30% but in order to buy a new iPhone one has to work more.  IT specialists have started taking a taxi four times more often. The number of PHP-developers has dropped by half over the last five years.
