Belarusian citizens sentenced for espionage for Lithuania

The sentence was made on December 30. The Belarusian citizens were sentenced over the 'treason' article, informs Interfax-West.

The KGB detained Fenzelau and Kochur in March 2012. The first one is the former military man who left for Lithuania for a permanent residence after quitting the Belarusian Armed Forces back in 2002. According to KGB's information, he got a task from the Lithuanian military interrogation to create a network of agents at the territory of Belarus. The Lithuanian side was allegedly interested in functioning of the Air Forces and Air Defence Forces.

The resident received financial support to disguise the mission - he allegedly started some 'commercial project' in Belarus. However, the Belarusian special services prevented launching the network of agents and transmission of the secret information to Lithuania.
