Belarus national arrested in Moscow for stealing posh cars

A Belarus national has been detained by the police in Moscow on suspicion of being involved in the theft of expensive cars, reports the Russian news agency Ria-Novosti.
He was part of a group that was changing the engine registration numbers on Lexus IS 250 stolen from a private garage in February 2008.

A criminal case has been opened against the thieves. Belarus is held in custody, while the rest have made a written plea not to leave the country. If convicted, they face up to ten years in prison.
