Beaten activist Yana Palyakova released from police custody in Salihorsk

Human rights activist Yana Palyakova, who was today detained and beaten up by the police in Salihorsk, has walked free from the detention facility.  "Doctors have detected injuries on a hand and both legs. She will now write a complaint to the prosecutor's office", human rights lawyer Aleh Vouchak told the European Radio for Belarus.

Palyakova is a member of Volha Kozulina's nomination group. KGB agents tried to question her for three days. Today, three police officers used force to detain Palyakova and took her to the police station. After she collapsed in the detention center, an ambulance was called to take her to a hospital under the "guard" of the policemen.
