Anti-nuclear forum takes place in Minsk

The headquarters of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front in Minsk today hosted an anti-nuclear forum. It was attended by scientists and civil activists from Belarus and Russia and politicians.
The forum focused on the planned construction of a nuclear power plant in Belarus. A majority of the audience spoke against a nuclear station in this country. However, there were supporters, too.

Academicians Yury Khadyka and Yury Vaytovich spoke in favor of the station, yet with certain conditions. Vaytovich previously served as the head of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
