Anatol Lyabedzka is re-elected head of United Civil Party

Anatol Lyabedzka has been re-elected head of the United Civil Party. The decision was taken according to the results of the secret vote during the 9th meeting of the party that is taking place in Minsk today, on April 20.
The head of Lelchytsy town affiliate of the UCP Mikalai Haurylenka was Lyabedzka rival. According to the poll commission, 127 delegates voted for Lyabedzka and 22 – for Haurylenka.

Lyabedzka has been the head of the UCP since 2000. He replaced the former head of the national Bank Stanislau Bahdankevich who had been the head of the party since it was created on October 1, 1995.

Let us remind you that the UCP was created as a result of the merger of two parties  - the Civil party and the United Democratic party.
