World famous De-Phazz plans joint project with Rusya
Jazz stars got absorbed in “a jam-session” with the Belarusian singer so much that they even thought of steady cooperation.
All musicians were offered an opportunity to participate in a general jam-session that lasted for many hours at the closing ceremony of the festival “Jazz Koktebel -2010” that took place on the Crimean shore a few days ago (a common jam-session of different musicians who may be unacquainted with each other is performed without any preliminary agreement or preparation).
Rusya had an opportunity to improvise with frontman of De-Phazz Karl Frienson. As the musician said in an interview with ERB, he felt admiration and even felt as if he were in space at some moment:
Karl Frienson: "I was really impressed by the quality and the musical talent. You know, our souls seemed to unite during the jam-session with Rusya. The musicians brought their feelings; I added mine and it turned out to be a whole thing. We were a team on the stage”.
Karl added that he was thinking of an opportunity to cooperate with Rusya.
Karl Frienson: "We agreed that we should do something together in the future. You know, I have already cooperated with Ukrainian bands, I wrote songs for them and we performed at festivals. I think cooperation is quite possible and we will do something together in 2011”.
Speaking about the other Belarusian singers at “Jazz Koktebel-2011”, we haven’t received any information about new cool projects. But the organizers were satisfied with the performance of the other Belarusian musicians and, according to the hostess of the festival Ms. Liliya Marinich, they may be invited again:
Liliya Marinich: "We cannot exclude anything. We listen to our festival audience and Belarusians were one of the zests of our festival this year”.
Let us remind you that the international festival “Jazz Koktebel-2010” takes place on the shore near the Museum House of an artist and writer Maximilian Valoshyn every year and attracts the best representatives of the actual jazz and alterative improvisation music. Belarus was represented by “Addis Ababa”, “Silver Wedding” and CherryVata&Rusya this year.
