Hanna Halinskaya is now heading the Yanka Kupala Museum. The new director was introduced to the museum staff by Minister of Culture Anatol Markevich.

Prior to her new appointment, Halinskaya had been working for more than 20 years at the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War. In recent years, she served as deputy director for scientific work.

As Euroradio reported earlier, the previous director, Alena Liashkovich, had been working in this position since 2007. At the beginning of January 2022, she was dismissed. The unofficial reason was her refusal to fire her staff for political reasons.

According to Markevich, in total, more than 300 people were dismissed from state cultural institutions for "politics".
