The World Curling Federation has extended the ban for Belarus and Russia until the end of the 2022-2023 season, Sportsnet writes.

Both countries were excluded from all competitions under the auspices of the federation shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The ban was initially imposed until the end of 2022 but was later extended.

The World Curling Championships will be held in April 2023 in Canada. Russia was a silver medalist at the 2021 Women's World Curling Championships and a bronze medalist at the 2018 World Curling Championships.
