The United Informatics Institute of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences ‘is considering’ the idea of using the energy that will be produced at the Belarusian NPP near Astravets for cryptocurrency mining. It is said in the reply to a request signed by CEO Alyakasndr Tuzikau.

A copy of this document has been uploaded to Facebook by journalist Yauhen Sudzilouski:

The problems of using the energy that will be produced at the Belarusian NPP is being actively discussed by the public now. Belarus had been planning to sell its electricity to the neighbouring states at first. Yet, Lithuania and Poland are going to boycott the supplies. “It is necessary to think how to use the energy produced at the nuclear power plant,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said in July.
