Aliaksandr Lukashenka expects to find a new model of cooperation with China amid the imposed sanctions. He said this during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyun and asked him to convey his words to the leadership of China. BELTA has published the video of the meeting.

At the same time, according to Lukashenka, he does not insist that "China should bear any responsibility and lose anything in connection with the sanctions imposed on Russia and Belarus". Recently, additional sanctions have been imposed against Belarus for its support of Russia, which unleashed a war against Ukraine. In particular, Russian missiles are launched from the territory of Belarus.

Earlier, the media reported that Moscow was counting on China's help, including military assistance, U.S. officials told Reuters yesterday. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is to meet with top Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi in Rome. The U.S. representative intends to warn Beijing against providing military assistance to Russia.
