Human rights activist Volha Karach recently learned that her Belarusian passport had been revoked when she was on her way to a security conference in Romania, Radio Liberty reports.

According to Radio Liberty, Karach's Belarusian passport was canceled on December 19. It was listed as "stolen" in the Interpol database.

Ms Karach found out about it by accident. She had to go through passport control to get to Romania, as Romania is not in the Schengen area.
