Germany extradites swindler businessman to Belarus

Germany has extradited to Belarus a resident of Hrodna suspected of major swindle, having caused losses worth of $1 million dollars to several enterprises in Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian Office of the Public Prosecutor reports.

The businessman was involved in poultry and tobacco trade in Belarus. He had enterprises sign contracts with him and was supposed to supply poultry or tobacco . However, he was not going to fulfill his commitments but fulfilled them partially to make it look like normal business. The man used fake documents when signing contracts with some enterprises. He went abroad in 2014 and was announced wanted by INTERPOL. The Belarusian was found and detained in Germany in the winter of 2019.

The criminal case for tax evasion and property damage started against the businessman has been sent to court.
