Men are guilty in 80% of domestic violence killings in Belarus as of July 2019.
This year, 55 people have died at the hands of family aggressors in Belarus. Statistics on domestic crimes for January-July 2019 have been made public by the Interior Ministry. Men are to blame for 80% of these crimes. They killed the women with whom they lived and worked together, state news agency BelTA reports.
The Interior Ministry is considering additional mechanisms to counteract domestic violence, namely to propose amendments to the current legislation.
