Belarus President Aliaksandr Lukashenka has approved 17 November 2019 as the date of the election for the seats in the lower chamber of the parliament, the House of Representatives. The 'senators' for the Council of the Republic will be elected on 7 November. Lukashenka signed his edicts on the election days on Monday, reports BELTA.

Euroradio reported earlier that on 30 July Aliaksandr Lukashenka met with CEC chairperson Lidziya Yarmoshyna who proposed exactly the same dates for the elections.

It means that the parliamentary election campaign has just kicked off in Belarus.

When it comes to the presidential elections, Yarmoshyna has proposed to hold them on 30 August 2020.
