Belarus between Guatemala and Russia in English proficiency ranking

Belarus ranks 47th in English proficiency, between Guatemala and Russia. The rating was compiled by the international company Education First, specializing in the study of languages. The survey covered more than 1 million people from 100 countries.

The residents of Belarus, as well as Ukrainians and Russians, have a low level of English language proficiency. Latvians have medium level of English, Lithuanians have high level of English, and Poles have very high level of English.

The residents of the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Denmark speak English best of all. The worst situation is in Libya, Saudi Arabia and Kyrgyzstan.

Interestingly, among the world's cities, Minsk is among those with an average level of English proficiency.
