The pentathletes from Belarus and Russia have been suspended from participation in world and European championships. The International Modern Pentathlon Union took the decision, reports the Belarusian Foundation for Sports Solidarity.

Belarusian athletes will also be withdrawn from all official international competitions under the auspices of the UIPM and the EAMR.

Federation of Modern Pentathlon of Ukraine has applied to the international organizations with the corresponding initiative.

"However, the representatives of the aggressor countries still occupy leading positions in the structure of the UIPM and EAMP. Our appeals and the steps of other international sports organizations have not yet affected this situation. We are working on it," Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Gutzeit added.

The modern pentathlon includes riding, fencing, shooting, swimming and cross-country running.
