The famous Belarusian swimmer Aliaksandra Herasimenia has sold her Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medal. It was bought for $19,700 at an NFT auction

In December 2021, Aliaksandra Herasimenia sold her silver medal from the 2012 London Olympics (50-meter freestyle) for $27,500. The silver medal won in the 100-meter freestyle in London is still up for auction.

In the spring of 2021, Aliaksandra Herasimenia sold a gold medal of the 2012 World Championships on eBay for $16.1 thousand. The funds went to support the activities of the Belarusian Foundation for Sports Solidarity. It recently raised funds to pay for a lawsuit filed with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne against UEFA and the Belarusian Football Federation.

Last year, the head of the Belarusian Sports Solidarity Foundation Aliaksandra Herasimenia was prosecuted in Belarus for "calls to commit other actions aimed at harming the national security of the Republic of Belarus.... She has been living abroad since the fall of 2020.
