The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine recently assessed the number of Russian military personnel in Belarus. There are about 5,800 of them, said Vadym Skibitsky, spokesman for the State Intelligence Directorate.

Late last year, the Ukrainian intelligence agency counted more than 10 thousand Russians in Belarus. However, some of the Russian servicemen trained at training ranges in Belarus have already been taken to Russia and sent to the front in Ukraine.

"At the moment, units of the sixth division, units of territorial troops, are going in there for training," Skibitsky said. "It's a very different contingent than it was at the beginning of the aggression [in February 2022]. There is no powerful aviation component there, despite the training, no powerful missile component, no airborne troops," he wrote.

The Main Intelligence Directorate notes that there is one Iskander division, S-300 and S-400 surface-to-air missile systems, and three MiG-31 aircraft in Belarus.
